a decades long history of research on artificial intelligence and its
interaction with a broader non-scientific community teaches us that
whatever behaviour we come to describe with some algorithm, it ceases to
be seen as intelligent. since the behaviour of our artifacts can
(usually, but progressively less so) be known in advance, they do not
appear intelligent, but merely slavishly processing hardwired or loaded
instructions. (02)
i guess that once we come to explain in details how our brains work
(*if* we come to that), we'll scream out 'eureka! we are not intelligent
at all!' are *we* not well (or not that well) designed transactional
systems? (03)
