Amanda, Your 2 points are "spot-on". Indeed, the second point is exactly my "integrating" ontology, which imports the target ontologies and does the mapping. As to your first point, that is worth highlighting. As done in FIBO, I try to over-document. As a little bit different than FIBO, I also include add WordNet synset references as direct references or designating them as hyponyms or hypernyms.
