I am a pragmatist and in this a follower of Peirce. In fact, my own work takes Peirce's suggestion more strictly. So, for me, "meaning" is the behavioral difference that the statement actually makes in the world. This is a strict interpretation of Peirce's pragmatic maxim.
You would clearly benefit from a study of Peirce in these matters.
I fear that you are wasting my/our time. I really should have taken note of John's initial remarks but, like John, I too see these events as pedagogically useful.
