Bill,    (01)

I do not know whether you saw my reply to Chris. One of the main
purposes of the summit is to bring upper ontologies into practical
applications, educating a broad audience about the nature of upper
ontologies and their usefulness. Practical applications means in
large measure commercial.    (02)

Please take a look at the agenda. Mills Davis and Doug Lenat team up
for 45 minutes to explain the importance of semantic technologies in
general and upper ontologies in particular. 30 minutes are devoted
to the communique - technical issues to be resolved cast in generally
understandable language, and 1 hr 45 min. to presentations of the
upper ontology custodians about their systems and applications of
these systems.    (03)

This all follows technical sessions on Tuesday and, with an eye to
practice, W morning.    (04)

I think there is balance, but just focusing on a small piece may
obscure that balance.    (05)
