Dear Mills,
I would expect most large organizations to have someone somewhere using
ontologies in some form. Most likely is as part of an integration or master
data management initiative, but use of ontologies in expert systems is also
likely. Smaller organizations (not particularly having integration problems)
might make use of ontologies in expert systems, but this will be because
they have a specialist need for one.
You are not going to find many/any large organizations with an ontology
department, or a chief ontologist.    (01)
