Hi Michael,

At my work, I provide both: powerpoint for presentation and a paper for much more details.  Recently, dues to difficulty of explaining ontology, I decided to pitch a prototype using powerpoint, concentrating in the flow of information and very little on ontology modeling and "how" I was able to query data using the underline ontology.  When "business" or subject domain experts are interested, they started talking about their own use cases; then more information about the ontology was revealed.  (Hence I totally understand "Blank stares" that someone said before in this forum)

It occurred to me that our target audience (business people who can make decisions) may be more likely to see a Powerpoint pitch than wade through 4-6 pages of text.

Which would YOU be more inclined to look at?
What are your thoughts?

For me, I personally prefer to read a good paper for a topic that interests me. Nevertheless,  it takes less than a minute to scan through a slide deck and get enough of the gist to decide to read more carefully.  If people wrote excellent abstracts, I could do the same for a text document, but you can never trust that they will.
