What makes Cyc important is that its goal was to support ordinary
language. It would eventually eliminate those brain farts.
For example, Cyc (or something similar) might make Siri more
intelligent. See my response about Siri in the thread "Apology". (02)

I admit that I should have omitted the acronym MCC. It's not relevant
to the book review, and the full form (Microelectronics and Computer
Technology Corporation) would be marginally more informative. (04)
But in 1993, the Cyc project was very familiar to readers of
the _AI Journal_. My review was the last of four reviews of Cyc
that were published in the same issue of AIJ. In that context,
the title of the book (immediately above that sentence) was
