Hi Kingsley -- As far as I understand it, there is a SQL-DB2 database underneath Watson, populated by running heuristics over a huge amount of unstructured data, such as free English text. (List folks, please correct me if this wrong.) So, Executable English could produce English explanations of answers, but the explanations would stop at the SQL level. That is, there would be no explanation of what the heuristics had done. One could of course consider rewriting those heuristics from Java or whatever into Executable English, so that reliable explanations could reach deeper.
