So these distinctions that you are doing research for, can be used to categorize
ontological commitments ? What kinds of things do you commit yourself
to in an ontology? Or are you trying to classify agreements that people might
make? Aren't the agreements faceted by the domain the agreement applies to,
like financial agreements, social agreements, romantic agreements, etc... ? (02)
Another way I can make sense of "ontological commitment" is talking about the
other kind of ontology, (which is by the way, explicitly NOT the topic of this
mailing list) i.e. the science of being. And that would be committing to the
ontological idea that there is a god or not, there is a material reality or not,
things are deterministic, or free will makes sense, etc. (03)
Ali, exactly what is it that you are researching? and how does it have to do
with organising, representing, or inferring using a computer? (04)
