1. My guess is that the problem is with your OWL editor. (02)
2. I have been accessing the OpenCyc Upper Ontology
(only 2 MB) for a number of years using mKE
(see http://mkrmke.org). The main "problem" I found
was the infinite loops. I had to change my hierarchy
display programs to use a visit count.
I have not tried the 124 MB file. (03)
3. Most current OpenCyc activity is on the email group
cyclify-austin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (04)
4. There is a new OpenCyc Web Services interface to
the ontology, accessible from www.cycfoundation.org.
mKE also has an OpenCyc Web Services interface. (05)
5. You should be aware that the OpenCyc ontology is
context-dependent. Since OWL does not have contexts
or procedures, the OWL file is a simplified version of the
OpenCyc ontology. (06)
