Adding to a wiki entry is not that bad.
Cutting and pasting is pretty easy. The editor is not as friendly as
some other wiki software but is not too difficult if you just follow the
model and are not too concerned about layout. That is sometimes a good
thing for the thought process anyway.    (01)

I would like to see some of these topics get more fully laid out so that
they become good references and we start to get a sense of what ideas
are 'generally accepted' with records of dissent where someone feels
that another approach is equally valid.    (02)

The recent history items that you bring up are very interesting to those
who are new to the field but have a long history of IT. It is
interesting to find out how people working in various fields came to
develop the ideas that we use today. IT tends to move so fast that we
forget how we got here and much of the history is never written down.    (03)

The theory discussions are essential but I sometimes think that too much
of the argument is either around the fringes with people trying to
invent things to disagree about or taken up with ideas that are just
plain wrong.
I think that if the wiki can help document the consensus and the
dissent, it might save a lot of repetitive discussion.
It will also force both sides of the argument to build a larger and
internally consistent view of their beliefs than normally comes out in a
short email.    (04)

We can already see some of the hints that the forum might be ready to
use the wiki in that some of the e-mails are getting long and are
quoting several previous e-mails in laying out their disagreement with
stated positions.    (05)
