John, Azamat, (01)
Just sharing some related thoughts...... (02)
1. Truth is often another name for a rigid belief, a Relative and not
Absolute entity in this Physical Universe, it is never the same as it is
always dynamic and spatially redistributed at least as a function of
time, etc., etc. (03)
2. The more definable attribute is approach to what are repeatable
observations that follow underlying laws, principles in nature that are
reasonably invariant so as not to worry about defining new laws of
nature every second! (04)
3. There is no a priori proof that there is a single truth but there are
probably many asymptotic convergent descriptions of observations,
experiences, phenomena and perceived realities that are repeatable. (05)
4. Physics is now coming around to accept the universe of
"possibilities" as described in thousands of years old philosophies and
practices. (The universe perceived by each of us may be different!) (06)
5. How much have we retarded progress in science through single track
thinking is unbelievable (till we started looking at vacuum states of
particle production, dark matter and dark energy, etc.) and (07)
6. The older the cultures, the more difficult it is to break-loose from
rigidity. (08)
THE HOPE FROM ONTOLOGIES IS THAT (as new formalisms) THESE WILL CLARIFY
RATHER THAN LIMIT OUR UNDERSTANDING, EVEN IF NOT SOLVABLE BY SINGLE
NOTATION OR EQUATIONS, AND WILL FORM AN ENGINE FOR BETTER DEFINITIONS
(understanding) IN NOT ONLY PHYSICS, BUT BIOLOGY AND EVEN SOCIAL
SCIENCES! (09)
Thanks.

Azamat, (015)
In an earlier note, I emphasized the need for warning labels
on foods, drugs, and ontologies. The following point needs
a very big warning label: (016)
> And allow me to remind that the crowning achievement of
> science is to give an integrated account of the world,
> presented as one mathematical (or conceptual) formalism
> of the universe. (017)
An "achievement" is something that has already been achieved. (018)
But science is a process of seeking for truth, and the more
we discover, the more we find that we don't know. (019)
