A number of the theories in the article on holes seem to demonstrate the
difficulties you get into if you assume that language models the world,
and therefore are forced to account for holes as entities, as opposed to
the view that language talks about the world in terms of differential
categories. Pragmatically, holes can kill you, and there are legal
consequences for putting holes in the wrong place. An ontology that
could find a place (a hole?) for holes would have a significant hole in
it.    (01)
