To put things in context, (01)
Ontolog's membership policy restraints commercial- and self-promotion
to a member's own namesake page, or his/her (reasonably sized)
signature block. (see:

Based on our IPR policy, we essentially only work with 'open' stuff
(open source software, open technology, open content, open knowledge,
open sharing ... ). (03)
However, we do run events (such as the ones Duane mentioned earlier)
where the open IPR restrictions are "specifically waived" to allow the
community to be exposed to commercial products and technologies as
well. ... We actually do declare that "waiver" beforehand when we go
into organizing those events. (04)

... the bottom line is, short of specially agreed and announced
waivers, let's stick with our contribution and IPR policies as they
are documented now, please. (06)
