My apologies if this is addressed in the linked W3C document (my blackberry
browser is not the best), but HTTP provides the RESTful
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Representational_State_Transfer) methods, where
giving the same uri with different methods gives back different information.
Originally to handle CRUD (create, read, update, delete):
GET: implies a READ: request for content
POST: implies UPDATE of existing content
Etc... (01)
This proposal is a bit "cracked" as it's not the intended use, but one can also
change the protocol itself. Perhaps an RDF protocol, etc. Even iTunes has its
ITMS protocol. Or is this already in the works? (02)
