Yes, you are right; simple slogans don't work, and each has
numerous counterexamples. That's a sort of folk knowledge which
has correlations, but not clear laws, or consistently applied
constraints, that can be mathematized. But that is how business
people operate their culture. There is never enough data or
knowledge to predict with certainty in the business world. (03)
You probably remember "diversify, diversify" from one side and
"keep all your eggs in one basket" on the other side. It isn't
that one or the other is ALWAYS true; it's that there is some
predictability, even if very weak, from a Before to an After
situation that business execs and investors can study. (04)
