For informal discussions, email has two weaknesses: (1) It can't
express the tone of voice. (2) It's not possible to interrupt and
say "That's not what I meant."    (02)

Recommendation: Avoid using the words 'you' and 'yours'. That's
a simple way to focus attention on the topic and avoid saying or
implying anything about the person who made the statement.    (03)

In any case, I'll just add a few clarifications.    (04)

In 1989, I came across _The Emperor’s New Mind_ in a bookstore.
I browsed through it, but I didn't consider it worth buying.
But the more recent publications by Penrose & Hameroff make the
ideas seem plausible, but not completely convincing. That's an
impression I get about many theories that have some potential,
but need more work to be fully convincing. I'll wait and see.    (06)

That's an example of a sentence that would sound better if it
did not include the words 'you' and 'your'.    (08)

What I mean is that I sympathize with those Eastern philosophers
who don't see a difference in kind between the feelings of a spider,
a frog, a cat, or a human.    (09)

As I said, I don't believe that currently popular AI methods will
support human-level intelligence. But I am reluctant to make
dogmatic statements about what is possible or impossible.    (011)
