The last sentence is not an assumption but based on about 30 years of managing, directing, and interacting with Data Designers, Modelers, Architects, Engineers, and Admins. I've been fortunate enough to work in many industries with some of the biggest names in each of those industries (both people and companies) and have rarely found cases where Data people had the experience necessary to design and implement complex systems that required far more to be considered than just Data. Again, it doesn't mean exceptions don't exist. They're just rare. I've personally found that most teams of Data Architects, Designers, Modelers and Database Engineers & Admins usually know how to model and tune Data, define Integrations, build stored procedures, and not much more, all based on requirements given to them. They would almost never, for example, be the people who could design and implement complex parallel computing grids that drive and leverage such models.
