I am saying that a database is a kind of document.    (02)

I am also saying that a database management system is an application
that manage databases.    (03)

Based on the above, XML based markup can be used to create databases
i.e., documents comprised of structured data marked up using an XML
based notation.    (04)

I wasn't insinuating that you were. I was simply trying to isolate the
database and database management system confusion that tends to permeate
these kinds of conversations/debates about XML utility.    (06)

See my comments above.    (08)

Yes, I am not disputing that.    (010)

Now you've lost me. All I am saying is that you can use a variety of
languages (including those that only have XML based notations) to create
databases i.e., documents comprised of structured content in the form of
statements that represent entity relations.

An XML based language (e.g. RDF/XML) can be a notation used to represent
entity relations for a given language (system of signs, syntax, and
semantics).    (013)

Not disputing Goldfarb's points :-)    (015)
