- establishes boundaries
- limits risk
- hedge technical bets
- hedge project management bets
If organizations had to sit down before hand & agree across organizational boundaries on what the data means across all the players/departments, nothing would ever get done.
Or are you going to tell me that the magic of SW means one does not have to define what data means?
