You provided the evidence.  You showed a trivial patent that
implements a technique that a professor would assign as
a homework exercise.    (02)

The reason why people get these stupid patents is that the patent
examiners and the patent courts are overloaded with huge numbers
of trivial patents that are deliberately obfuscated with terminology
that makes them sound novel.    (03)
