I'll put off my advocate hat :)    (01)

So if the resulting product is an invention (e.g. not a business
model), novel, contains an inventive step and industrially applicable
it should be patentable. To be sure though best talk with a patent
lawyer, it gets pretty difficult to grasp once you start mixing in
software, or when software is your main component.    (02)
