More likely that bond rating agencies are an endangered species.
Poor S&P is getting a lot of flack and this might just finish their
credibility.
They screwed up on the mortgage ratings and now they are having to
explain a calculation error in their downgrade analysis and face the
fact that no one believed (or followed) their downgrade.
Money still thinks that the US is the safest place to be and interest
rates on anything US is practically zero without impeding the flow in.
I have only seen one interview with an S&P executive and he just looked
embarrassed to be talking. (01)
Homeland Security will always get money. The dems are too afraid to be
seen as soft on crime or terrorism or public safety and the other side
thinks that that is the only legitimate role for government as long as
you are not wasting it on protecting the poor or racial minorities or
people with the wrong religion. (02)
