You might want to add the US Justice Department to your list of places
to look for interested and interesting people.
They seem to have acquired a sudden interest in ways to describe complex
financial instruments and the relationships between the purchasers,
sellers and rating agencies that dealt with them. (06)
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ikmf_figs is a Canadian Federal government
group discussing Knowledge Management. I am one of the few industry
members. They are focused on KM in general and are not spending much
time on ontology but I suspect with a bit of member interest they will
start to pay attention to it.
I am pretty sure that your MLIS background and experience will be of
