>Who, other than teenagers on myspace, is going to trust anything

It depends on what you mean by trust. (02)
For example, my kids are not allowed to use Wikipedia as a reference
for school. However, Wikipedia often has very useful information. So
they read it, use it, find the same information in a more
"trustworthy" but usually impenetrable source, and cite that. I use
Wikipedia and the like all the time. Of course I know all the
caveats. On topics I know well, I know there are plenty of errors,
but often it's surprisingly good. I don't take it as the last word,
but it's better than many of the professors I had in college. (03)
>Do you want this kind of thing, for example, undergirding the

Again, it depends on exactly which "kind of thing" you are talking
about and exactly how it is being used. Obviously, there are
different requirements for safety-critical systems, and they need to
be engineered accordingly. (05)
>...Who says there is no via media? (06)
Usually between two diametrically opposed straw-persons shouting
epithets at each other there is a viable via media. (07)
