Depending on how you are defining an ontology (I know, there's a whole
discussion and summit under way, addressing this question) - there are a series
of browsers using XTM, the syntax of the ISO "Topic Maps" standard, including
from NetworkedPlanet, Coolheads, Mondeca, Ontopia, etc... There seems to be
much more mature end user ontology browsing capability around that standard
than there is around OWL, CL or KIF, for example... (01)

Subject: Re: [ontolog-forum] OntologyBrowser (04)
Hi Rex,
I am sorry I wasn't clear about what I need. I have seen Protégé. But its
heavy and infact now I am working on to develop a web based browser that works
like Protégé to browse through the ontologies. I am not trying to develop an
editor. Only the browsing part for many users, not the Knowledge experts but
the Domain experts who are not comfortable with heavy tools like Protégé to
browse through the ontology. (05)
I want to know if it is possible to create a browser which can accept any
already created and developed ontology and allow users to navigate through the
hierarchy levels. Or is it that browser is dependent on ontology? (06)
PS: I have to start working on a browser for an agricultural ontology. (07)

Hi Chandu, (010)
When you use the word "any" you are asking for a
lot and I expect that the relative lack of
response may be attributed to that. However, if
you ask for "most" ontologies, then there are
several candidates, among which I would say
Protégé is probably one of the best. (011)
