I echo this sentiment.    (01)

We recognise sense (1) as well, but see sense (3) as where meaning 
originates, and (1) and other senses are ultimately derived from it. For 
mapping/transformation purposes we take it to the limit and model all types 
as roles in a kind of event or state characterised  by a verb.    (02)
