I would have said that a UML tool “can” import/export but this is a good distinction. I get frustrated by the lack of standard layout support in interchange formats (or the vendors lack of consistently implementing them).

Question for you (maybe off topic for this list).

What UML tool do you favor?  I am run OSX 10.5 and also Ubuntu 9 and want a tool that can model Java classes and write out good stub code.  Any input appreciated.  If off topic for this list, please let me know.
