You don't have to get to politics and religion. Just look at the multiple versions of any large computer program. Every time you get a new patch or update to any operating system,
incompatibilities (i.e., inconsistencies) arise.
Even in physics, the general equations are so hard to solve that *every* application makes simplifying assumptions that are specialized for that application -- and they are
inconsistent with the assumptions that are made for other kinds of applications.
