Some of the FIPA standards for agent communications were also OKBC based, and our  (Sandpiper's)
original approach to ontology development in UML was partly derived from OKBC.  That approach
was abandoned in the Ontology Definition Metamodel (ODM), in part because it was orthogonal to
what we ended up doing, but there are still applications that use some of the scaffolding from OKBC
for various purposes, including repository structures, for example.

No. OKBC was never widely used or standardized:
it use seems to have been internal to the
organizations involved in the DARPA HPKB program.
The terminology it uses is now somewhat out of
date, and the presumptions on which it is based
are also somewhat dated, although they could be
modified to conform to current usage.
