Thank you, Duane.    (01)

I concur.    (03)

In view of our "open" IPR Policy ( see:
http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl#nid036 ), all else being
equal, the open source product would probably be more appropriate for
this group. The community, of course, decides. Having the software,
though, is only a part of the equation ... having the people who
understand its whys and wherefores working on it with the community
is, at least, equally as important. Therefore, please work with us on it.    (05)

We definitely look forward to collaboration among community members
who have the expertise in this respect. The thread like what Marion
Royal started back in March 2003 (see thread beginning with
http://ontolog.cim3.net/forum/ontolog-forum/2003-03/msg00021.html ) is
what would move us forward.    (07)

Cheers,

Hello Peter:    (03)

Yes - I did bring it up. The onus was on me to make this offer on this
list (something which I took a while to do due to busy schedules). It
is a proprietary product that implements an open standard (ebXML v2.*+).
My impression is that it would be indespensible to this groups
activities to have an operational registry. There is also an open
source ebXML Registry and it is very good too. Farrukh Nambji of Sun MS
may be in a position to offer the services necessary to implement that
one. Either way would benefit this group.    (04)
