Yes, I agree, Fabian, but wanted to make sure this criterion was considered.    (01)

Also, another criterion of membership might not be that of being a student, but 
being an independent, ill-funded, unaffiliated scholar or junior faculty. We 
are not explicitly considering this for the current Summer School grants, but 
sometimes that is a consideration (e.g., I don't know that we define 
"student").     (02)

We can only evaluate based on our best sense and the information the applicants 
provide, so I am sure you will do well in your determination.    (03)

Leo,
Probably I should have made it explicit, but I intended to cover this  
aspect under "economic need" (the second criteria I mentioned).  
Obviously, on average students from the US or Western Europe will have  
more money than students from a developing country. But then again,  
there are very rich families in developing countries as well. So in my  
opinion geography should not be a criteria on its own, we will have to  
see what the applicants write about their financial situations.
