Then I suggest we at least provisionally adopt the following for the Summer School this year, so Stefano and Claudio can request this information, per Antony and Werner:

 

Request the following:

1)      CV together with a statement of why they want to attend the summer school and what they hope to get out of it e.g., in terms of furthering their career development, etc.

Any recommendation letters?

2)      Specific travel support need (and whether they are receiving any other support).

 

Should we give preference to students or scholars with limited resources (from under-developed/developing countries)?

 

Does this sound good?

Yes, at Vespucci, we ask for what Antony suggests from all (because we select participants), and for the specific travel support need from those who ask for support. The actual decisions have to be taken without full information and assuming honest statements, but this is all we can do, I think.
