Thanks, Yuri, Terry and Ali, (not that I make the rules here ... I only suggested them earlier, and no one objected.)

Yuri and Ali are correct, the "two" finalists are just variations of the same design ... and, presumably, the finalized design may probably be rendered in different variations (say, when printed on a light background vs. a dark background).

Since Ali is in favor of including "Milov-1" as a finalist too, so here goes: (unless someone objects within the next 24 hours) our finalists are "Hashemi-4," "Hashemi-c" and "Milov-1" (with the possibility that "Hashemi-4" and "Hashemi-c" may end up as either one or two entries in the final round, as AliHashemi desires.)

Good luck, Ali & Yuri!

Keep the comments and suggestions coming in, everyone!

Best regards.  =ppy

I agree with the above sentiments -- the two leading logos are really variations on the same theme. It might be more useful to have an option between two distinct logo styles.

On that note - the colours and fonts are really quite easy to change. Do people have a preference for a blue or white or red (or whatever colour) background. Similarly, do people have a preference for which font is used? I'm open to suggestions - please send them along!

Cheers,
Ali

As one who voted for all 3, I'd agree with Yuriy, but I think we'd need a ruling from Peter.   He set up the rules to allow us to move on without looking back.  None of us really considered the possibility that the first vote would ultimately all but decide the final question.

Hi All

Thanks all who voted for "Milov-1" candidate.

BTW I see that both finalists are the variation of same Ali's idea, so I
have one more idea - to move 3 my additional votes to the "Milov-1"
candidate as it would bring more intrigue to the next step ;)

Anyway I am pretty sure the Ali's idea will win, so congatulatoins to Ali -
the great job! :)

Yuri

Emerged!

Dear All,

Re: http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?OOR_Logo_Candidates

Here are the results of our first poll on the OOR Logo designs ...

* candidates "Hashemi-4" and "Hashemi-c" were selected as finalists,
each with 6 votes

* right behind them were: "Milov-1" with 4 votes, as well as "Ding-1"
and "Hashemi-a" each with 3 votes

* we had 13 participants casting a total of 35 votes all together

... Congratulations, Ali!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who submitted designs, and appreciations
to those who took the time to review and vote on them.

The next step is for the finalists (looks like its Ali Hashemi
competing with himself here) to tweak and package up the design for a
final poll, when the community will, again, vote to adopt one (out of
the two) "OOR Logo" design.

Between now and Thu 2011.05.26 - 9:00pm PDT, the community is welcome
to provide our designer(s) with suggestions on the final tweaks
(although, it will be up to the designer to make the final call on how
he/she wants to do it.) Please do so by replying to this thread

After that we will run another poll and pick our OOR Logo.

Thanks & regards. =ppy

Dear All,

The first round of polling for the OOR Logo is now open.

As discussed earlier (ref.
http://ontolog.cim3.net/forum/oor-forum/2011-05/msg00030.html#nid05 )
the top two (2) logo designs will be shortlisted for further
refinement. (After which we will go into a final polling round to
determine which design will get adopted as the OOR Logo.)

Please goto the page with all the candidate designs:
http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?OOR_Logo_Candidates
Then open another window for the polling form:
http://ontolog.cim3.net/file/work/OOR/OOR-Logo/Poll/poll-01.html
... and following the instructions there.

This polling round will close at 9:00pm PDT on Thu 2011.05.19 ...
please vote NOW!

Thanks in advance for your participation. Post any question you may
have to this thread, or to me offline (if it is not something most
others would want to know about too.)

Regards. =ppy
