Peter,

The title of yesterday's session was "Getting OOR Development Going - Take-IV".  If we don't have deliverables then what exactly are we developing and why are we compelled to get it "going"?  

I think that you are confusing "commitment" with "deliverable".  Although there is no explicit funding commitment as yet, the group is, in fact, delivering work products.  For example, Ken's WSDL and WADL definitions of the BioPortal API and his recent architectural document

Based on the discussion in this thread thus far, it looks like the deliverables are:

  1) An architectural specification of the OOR.

  2) A production quality implementation of the OOR.  

We can commit to a specific set of deliverables.  However, these commitments will probably be soft commitments given that there is no explicit funding.

meetings (not Ontolog meetings).

) and what OOR member (individuals or contributing projects) bring to
the table.

a specific set of deliverables, the alternative-week OOR team meeting
have been working on this continuously since 2008.

That said, most of the contributing projects in the OOR "family" (say,
from BioPortal, to work at NEU, Bremen, UofToronto, .. .alll the way
to the SOCoP-INTEROP, which just got funded by NSF) would almost
definitely have specific deliverables. The art and science of
coordinating these to deliver the OOR mission, is, obviously, the team
needs to work on too.

To avoid further confusion, you could start another thread on "OOR
Deliverables" (or morph this over) if you want.
