In the Case Study track we have at least one case study for this use case, namely the EDM Council material.

A rough summary of each case study (Problem, Solution, Key Features, Benefits) is now up on the Track 2 synthesis page at:

Nicola,

I agree that conceptual modeling is a very important use.  I see this more and more in industry, companies get value from ontologies (and even taxonomies)  just by having a way to be on the same page, seeing the big picture.

I'm finding the exercise of putting the framework into OWL is a great forcing function for thinking, and reduces ambiguity in communicating to otehrs. A great example of the conceptual modeling.

The OWL version of OAF has nothing on this yet. There are so may ways to slice the pie, I'm still getting my head around it.

Dear Michaels,

something which is missing  from the OAF picture on the community wiki is the use of ontologies for conceptual modelling, and in general for understanding a domain. This is clearly mentioned in the paper cited below (and in many other places, of course), and was also emerging from the online discussion (which I am following only sporadically, I admit...).

Talking to you soon,

Nicola

P.S. I find the bullet on "Semantic augmentation" a bit confusing, let's think about how to improve it...
