Subject: [ontolog-forum] 3D+1 (was presentism...was blah blah blah)    (02)

Hello,    (03)

Can someone please explain (in monkey terms, for I am a monkey-brain) what
3D+1 actually is ? I get 4D, finally, after years of hanging on Chris and
Matthew's coattails, but the 3D+1 thing is a mystery. I have good reason to
ask, as I once had a 4D ontology pilot project rejected because the customer
believed their 3D+1 approach was more than adequate. When pushed, it turned
out they had no idea what 3D+1 was either. I googled it at the time and got
nothing back of any use.    (04)

It would help if whoever answers this could provide some real examples.    (05)

Also, does it work ? ...and by that I don't mean is it logically complete,
compliant with FOL, etc. I mean has it ever solved anyone's business
problems ?    (06)

Thanks    (07)

Ian    (08)

Dear John,    (010)

I agree that generally 3+1D can be converted to 4D. However, Presentism is
not even 3+1D.    (011)
