Adrian, (01)
AW> However, please note that the vocabulary for executable English
> is uncontrolled, and so largely is the syntax. (02)
Most CNLs, such as ACE and CLCE, also have an uncontrolled vocabulary
in the sense that any string of letters is an acceptable word. The
meaning of that word is totally determined by whatever axioms or
definitions are written in those languages. (03)
But I agree that your version also has an uncontrolled syntax
in the sense that users can use strings of words with very few
restrictions on the word order. The author would normally
choose an order that resembles their favorite language, but
that is not a prerequisite. (04)
But the important control is on the logic, which is FOL or
some subset. Whatever strings of words are typed in must be
translated to that version of logic. (05)
