True, although as the word was coined by Gibson, one might
regard his notion as having some priority; and I cannot find any reference to
its use in any literature outside Gibsonian psychology or interface
engineering (through the influence of Don Norman). As the Wikipedia article
says:
"The different meanings now associated with the word, although closely
related, can be a source of confusion in writing and conversation if the
intended meaning is not made explicit and if it is not used
consistently."
