[ontolog-forum] what is open ontology?

Greetings

In preparation for next week summit which has as a central theme open ontology repository, I am trying to sum up work done to date in this area.

The first point that I need to clear up is:  ' what is open ontology', I think having an idea of what different people mean by 'open ontology', may help us to develop the discourse around OOR, and to contribute more meaningfully to the objectives of the workshop

My early take linked below, I would be happy to share notes on the work done in this last year, as well as to hear how the work of this summit is related or differs to the points below
