Hi Leo,    (01)

thank you very much for taking this up, I haven't had a chance to get back
to it yet.    (02)

For two reasons I'd like to propose slightly differently, namely to send
only the chat summary to [iaoa-member] and to [iaoa-swao]. Via [iaoa-swao],
this will be publically available. The chat-transcript together with the
summary should be stored in the SIG's file workspace, which is
access-restricted to IAOA members.    (04)

The first reason is the public availability of the [iaoa-swao] archive. For
me it's unclear beforehand whether any sensitive information appears in the
chat-transcript, e.g. email addresses etc. Thus the transcript had to be
checked for such occurrences. Moreover, when e.g. I capture what I have
understood from others, this may be wrong, in particular, since this is
produced live and rather quickly. Therefore already, I propose to keep the
chat transcript access-restricted.    (05)

The second reason concerns the tradeoff of visibility of the SIG vs.\
contextual appropriateness & information load. IAOA members interested in
details of the SIG (though hopefully many) should join the SWAO mailing list
(and ideally the group as such). Those IAOA members not so much interested
in the SIG I would inform via the chat summary only, that produces
visibility already. I would propose to save them from having to ignore
another message sent at the same time that most likely they are not highly
interested in.    (06)

But all that's just my view and proposal, open to other points that I miss.
I suggest to find an agreement in the next SIG meeting and live with the
more restricted approach until then, because the other way round is harder
to reverse.    (07)

Thanks for forwarding the chat summary to the list already, I've just been
to slow. Overall, I think it's preferable to post the summaries directly in
the body of the message instead of/in addition to a text file attachment,
because then specific parts of the summary can be referenced later via
purple numbers in the archive.
Therefore, in this case overruling the information load argument above, I'll
re-post the summary after I've uploaded the chat transcript in the file
workspace, such that it can be linked in the summary, as also suggested by
Elie. (Not immediately, since I need to settle a technical issue with the
workspace access on my machine first. Then I can let you know better how to
use the file workspace.)    (08)

Thanks and best regards,
Frank    (09)
