I think this is a simplification. Those of us calling in using "traditional"
technologies experienced a great deal of bleed-through from another conference
today, so much that for portions similar to the ones Gerald complains of. I was
uncertain whether there was a conversational thread I did not understand or

[ppy] From your description, it sounds like you had a bad/unstable
Internet connection. QoS (quality of service) is still an issue with
VoIP services, especially with the lower-end services like Skype.
Maybe you might try to find a location with a better (bandband)
connection to the Internet the next time around ... or use POTS
("plain old telephone service" ... i.e. a "land line") instead, if

[ppy] I tried reproducing you problem, and confirm that it is in fact
the case. I tried dialing 8 times, and (like you) got the "invalid or
non-existent" error 4 times, got "call failed" 3 times ... but was
actually able to get through once! ... That service is obviously
inadequate, at least for now. I have communicated that to the service
provider already. In the mean time, please try (i) POTS, (ii) direct
dial to skype, and (iii) other available lines, instead. ... Sorry! (015)
