But why do people use the term "Hasse diagram"?    (02)

The convention of representing a partial order by placing the
more general terms above the more specialized ones was used
by Porphyry in the 3rd century AD.  That's about 1600 years
before Vogt.  Furthermore, every textbook on Aristotelian
logic from the middle ages to the early 20th century used
that convention.  Following is a typical example:    (05)

Perhaps Birkhoff never studied Aristotelian logic,
