Here are a few.  I wasn't really sure if OOR wanted a full on logo, maybe something symbolic, or a simple wordmark. The above are poorly digitized versions of some brainstorms - I don't have my tablet with me, so they're rather rough.

The arch is inspired by: http://rpmedia.ask.com/ts?u=/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/12/RomeConstantine%27sArch03.jpg/176px-RomeConstantine%27sArch03.jpg

Though I didn't have the patience to make it into a triple arch in inkscape - ideally, each letter would go into one of the three arches. If there is interest in the arches, i'll give it a go on the weekend hopefully.

The arches and boxes are playing on the openness. 

The boolean on the structure of the repository

and the others on aesthetics. 

The weird one was the best I could get in inkscape. The idea was to get sthg close to: http://www.dadcando.com/Doing/Experiments/Images/Mobius-strip-Blue425.jpg but it became that abomination. If there is interest in a Mobius based design, I'll see if I can get to a scanner for hand drawn versions.

The font for the wordmarks are just to get a feel only and ought be changed to better match the aesthetic of the icons where applicable.

We didn't quite get enough suggestions yet -- only KenBaclawski and
LiDing sent over candidate logos.

JohnSowa sent a description of a logo in prose ... which would
probably end up as multiple candidates if  some of us try to produce
it according to his instructions! :-)

I have therefore, decided *not* to close the solicitation quite yet,
but to make the plea again! ... PLEASE SUBMIT SOME MORE in the next
few days. We would propbably need to decide on something at the
regular OOR Team conference call this coming Friday (2011.05.06).
