Dear Anatoly,

I like how you promote the topic as well as your real world approach to Ontology Engineering as based on "true ontology ...the knowledge of things".
Basing on the ontological engineering, added up with the systems engineering tools and methods, we promote in Russia smart sustainable community projects as multidisciplinary projects: http://iiisyla.livejournal.com/
I believe there is a good ground for further cooperation with the INCOSE III Russia Charter.

Kind regards
Azamat Abdoullaev

Dear Azamat,

sorry, URI of Russian 3 hour of ?ontology engineering for systems engineering? video go to http://incose-ru.livejournal.com/32094.html (and there are many other video with systems engineering ontology-related talks at http://incose-ru.livejournal.com/, especially that deal with ISO 15926 ontology).

In my blog I often write that programming, modeling and ontologizing is the same activity. Software Engineering is embedded now in all curriculums of Systems Engineering (BKCaSE project -- http://www.bkcase.org/), thus Model Engineering and Ontology Engineering should be embedded too.

There is consensus that in next version of SEBoK (software body of knowledge, the base for Software Engineering curriculum) Systems Engineering will be as one of discipline to study. Thus I suppose that in Ontology Engineering one of the disciplines to study should be Systems Engineering. Azamat, you have right questions, but no fewer questions we can find in ?Systems Engineering for Ontology Engineering?.

Best regards,

Anatoly Levenchuk

The URL is not found.

How ontology engineering (OE) interrelates with systems engineering (SE) is indeed an engaging issue to discuss on the Summit.

  1. If OE for SE, or rather vice versa
  2. If OE gives for SE, concepts, models, universal systems language, as well as the whole system principles, as holism, emergency, boundary
  3. If SE is about methods, tools, strategies, procedures, and techniques, as systemic  modeling and simulation, design synthesis and engineering, development and management, all to manage compexity in multidisciplinary projects and complex systems.

We have yesterday (25th  of January 2012) 57th regular meeting of INCOSE Russian chapter and have about 3 hour of a discussion on ?ontology engineering for systems engineering? topic (slides in English, video in Russian  -- http://ailev.livejournal.com/976932.html).

Hope that somebody (who understand Russian) will enjoy video of the discussion :-)

Best regards,

Anatoly Levenchuk

Dear Matthew,

OK with 26th of January. By the way, we will discuss (in Russian) those slides 25th of January 2012 at INCOSE Russian chapter meeting.

I think that we can discuss my or Victor possible presentation at second session in a week from 26th of January to 2nd of February. As I understand it can be devoted to readiness assessment and some kind of feasibility study of suggested issues.

Best regards,

Anatoly Levenchuk

Dear Anatoly,

Confusion obviously continues. I am hoping you will present this Thursday (26th of January). The second session as well if you (or Victor) can.

Dear All,

I was invited by Matthew West to participate in second joint session of tracks 1 and 2 (2nd of February 2012). I prepared outline for my presentation ?Ontology Engineering for Systems Engineering? and publish it here: http://www.slideshare.net/ailev/ontolog

Will be glad to get any remarks (and then will rework this slides) and ready to answer all questions about it.
