There is a face recognition taxonomy which senses
emotions on faces. The taxonomy is mentioned in Seth Grimes' article titled
"On Facial Coding, Emotion Analytics, and Emotion Aware Applications"
at:
https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/facial-coding-emotion-analytics-aware-applications-seth-grimes
To summarize, it tells how various companies and
institutions are developing emotional interfaces, presumably around that
taxonomy. A company named Affectiva is developing emotion
tracking technology based on training videos of faces from webcams.
The article also mentions several applications of emotion
sensitivity. Among other predictions, one is that emotion tracking will
be common within five years. That sounds fast to me.
