Rich, is there any overview of methods used for voice recognition, as this service is really good done today (for Russian too;-) and may be used as input for ontology based part of conversation. Do they use ontology (of any kind) on their part? I don't think so. But we may get just good quality of recognition. My friend is developing read/write assistant using OWL 2 and reasoner.
