[ontolog-forum] A conversation about future Ontolog infrastructure

Dear Ontolog Community Members,

As many have observed and recently discussed, the Ontolog infrastructure could do with some updating.

Since Ontolog's initial launch, many technical advances has come along that might better support Ontolog's goals.  

The Board of Trustees has identified infrastructure updates as a need, opportunity, and priority, for too many reasons to list in this email message. 

Toward that end, we need the community's input -- including input from those whose participation has been curtailed by frustration with, or inadequacies in, the current infrastructure.

What do you want, need, and expect from Ontolog's infrastructure? What should it support? What should it enable? What should it mitigate?

I have created a wiki page to serve as home base for this conversation:

At the bottom of this page, you will notice a comment section, with features a bit different from the usual wiki-editing process.

Of course, this has its own limitations, and other Ontolog channels may be used for this conversation as well.  However, I encourage all of you to check out this page, and in particular, the comment-based conversation mechanism. It is my hope that we can use this bit of our current infrastructure to collect and generate the community input we need.
