Contrary to the subject and therefore in a best tradition of this forum - may I point out a consistent trend of contre-opposing moves from philosophy-ethics to engineering-science and back. It is time to recognise that neigher side has a lagitimate claim for truth and meaning of what works and what does not. This is sometimes called an "illusion of validity".
I think we all victims of ontological meltdown.

As an engineer, I'd say the test is whether or not you end up with
