We had, today (Thursday 10-May-2007), a wonderful session for
the 7th episode of the Ontolog mini-series on "Database and
Ontology." Dr. Matthew West (Shell International Petroleum
Company), again, presided over the session with invited speaker,
Professor Tatiana Malyuta from the New York City College of
Technology, who presented her talk on "Interaction of Ontology
and Database in the Information System."    (01)

Thank you, Professor Malyuta, for providing us a perspective on
ontologies from the vantage point of a database person. Our
appreciations to Dr. Matthew West, again, for championing this
mini-series; and, as always, thanks to all the participants for
joining us at the session.    (02)

Proceedings of the session are captured on our wiki page, at:
http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?ConferenceCall_2007_05_10    (03)

In particular, full audio recording of the session is now
available - see:
http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?ConferenceCall_2007_05_10#nid1142     (04)

... Professor Tatiana Malyuta's contribution in the proceedings
today is adding another important piece in the body of knowledge
on ontology and ontological engineering that our community is
building together. Thanks again!    (05)

Best regards. =ppy    (06)

P.S. Upcoming events:    (07)

* The next three episodes of the "Database And Ontology"
mini-series that Dr. West has lined up will be featured as a
cluster over three (3) consecutive Thursdays. Dates and invited
speakers scheduled include:    (08)

o Thursday, 28-Jun-2007 - Ms. Melliyal Annamalai from Oracle    (09)

o Thursday, 05-Jul-2007 - Dr. Chris Partridge from the UK    (010)

   o Thursday, 12-Jul-2007 - featuring Dr. John Sowa    (011)

* Watch our [ontolog-invitation] list for further announcements,
or the listing under the "News & Announcements" section at our
Ontolog WikiHomePage (at:
http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?WikiHomePage#nidW ) for
the above and other upcoming events.    (012)

* An archive of noteworthy past Ontolog events can be found at:
